Ceramic Olive Oil Dispenser Bottle, Opaque Oil Cruet Protects Oil

This stoneware bottle with a pourer is useful for both prep and serving, The stoneware vessel cuts a striking figure on your countertop and goes right to the table when it's mealtime.  High-fired stoneware is exceptionally strong. Fill this beautiful bottle with your favorite vinegar or oil.  The pourer is included.
 
How It Was Made
 
I threw this bottle from a combination of three colored stoneware clays.  I altered the bottle for easy gripping and carved through the layers of clay to expose the inner patterns.  After a first firing, I sanded the bottle to make it smooth (think river rock) to the touch.  I then glazed the interior of the bottle with a reactive sage glaze.

How it is made.  Stoneware clay is thrown on a wheel.  It is fired twice and glazed in a food safe  glaze.
