Lisa Naples - Animal Bell Workshop: A 2-Day Event
Time & Location
About The Event
In this weekend workshop, Lisa Naples will be teaching students to make animal heads, the most challenging and intricate part of any animal figure. Each participant will choose a mammal that resonates with them (no birds or reptiles). We will create a custom neck that will build a bridge between the head and the bell shape (provided). A “clapper” will be imagined and formed as well to complete the bell. Nichrome wire will be used to create loops both inside the bell and at the end of the clapper to connect them (via chain) after they’ve been fired. During the afternoon of day #2, we’ll decorate the constructed bells with both viscous (dry brush) and fluid, colored slips.
Cost is $255 and includes clay, use of tools, nichrome wire and the bell base (Pottery By Yvonne will provide 1, wheel-thrown bell base for all participants), and firing.
